Fancier dining than expected, so a little on the pricier side. Kitchen closes at 8:30pm, thankfully we called ahead and were able to get in a little later. Amazing lamb chops!! They didn't ask for a temperature, came out medium - med rare. Super nice staff! Couscous didn't really agree with my test buds.
Had a wonderful lunch at Old Village. I sat outside in a shady spot that was a bit on the cool side. It was my own fault I didn't have a jacket, but it was not uncomfortable. Started with a dark ale from Excelsior. It was delicious. The caramelized onion/bleu cheese burger was exactly what I needed. I did not need creme brulee, but I can never resist it, and it was excellent. Great lunch in a beautiful little town.
Best meal in town when looking for a romantic dinner. Unless you are already a wine aficionado, let them recommend a pairing for your food selection, as they do a great job with it. If the waiter doesn't know, they'll get one of the owners or the chef to recommend, and all are excellent. Best creme brulee for miles, and many times, whatever is fresh/best at the local farmer's market will be incorporated into a dish on the evening menu. I've eaten here many times and it's always top notch. I love the the chef or owner will stop by my table to check that everything is exactly as you asked for it to be cooked, or chat about prep/inspiration on unique offerings. Nice atmosphere too, more formalized than other places in town, but not pompous either.
I've paid twice as much for a steak but haven't had better. Tdf dessert
This is the fancy place in town! I enjoy the purple hue, like the Vikings. My fiancé and I shared the focaccia appetetizer. The appetizer was delicious! Only improvement I would suggest is to add music in downstairs bar.
